A 21st-century approach to learning
Dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge, the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre is bringing the world to the people of B.C. This state-of-the-art facility at the University of British Columbia provides on-site and remote access to a variety of educational opportunities, as well as UBC’s extensive library system, and other collections around the globe. Innovative, interactive, and on the technological cutting edge, this project also involved preserving an important part of the school’s history; in addition to its work on the new facility, DA guided restoration of the original 1925 library, which is at the heart of the Learning Centre complex.![]()

February 2010. DA Architects + Planners are very pleased to have been presented with the recognition award for the use of wood on the Vancouver Convention Centre West. This recognition is from the Government of British Columbia. It recognizes vision, leadership and innovation in promoting wood as the preferred choice for building design, construction and daily living.

- February 2010. The Delta Hospice Society has opened the new Delta Hospice which has 10 suites in the Hospice Residence and an adjacent Outreach Support Centre for supportive care for members of the community including resources, counselling and consultation. The Delta Hospice is in Delta, BC and is adjacent to the Delta Hospital.
