This project converted an existing 32 storey hotel into a rental residential building and boutique hotel.  It required a rezoning to allow for the change in use as well as a Development Permit.

Previously known as the Coast Plaza Hotel and Conference Centre, the tower has been renovated into 316 rental residential units.  The conference centre podium was demolished and a new structure was built to acocmodate 65 garden guestrooms. The existing building also contains an at-grade shopping centre that remained open during the renovation.

The project was technically very complex as it required extensive negotiations with the City’s Building and Engineering Departments as well as meeting the challenges of on-site hidden conditions while upgrading a half-century old building.
