The Platform Projects are a series of community and commercial centers reflecting DA’s architectural creativity in simplicity. The clients have carefully selected these sites to serve as neighbourhood nodes and DA’s commitment to placemaking compliments that goal. Varying architectural expressions for each project are always achieved by implementing one simple strategy: responding to site-specific context and history. From using locally-sourced and recycled materials, to pervious paving and bioswales; DA’s work emulates conscious and site-sensitive sustainability.
Oxford Crossing: Decorative elements are recycled from the large heavy timber beams from the previous building.
Oxford Crossing: The building façade and signage pylons pay homage to the site’s history.
Oxford Crossing: South-facing windows are shaded to reduce solar gain and ultimately energy use.
Prosperity Ridge: Paying homage to history, the project site was the original log house manufacturing location in Williams Lake.
Prosperity Ridge: The heavy timber prominently expressed through the weather protection and the signage areas.
River Point Landing: A variety of elevation treatments on the precast structures provide a lively and interesting overall composition.
