For over 50 years, the Westin Bayshore Hotel has been, and remains, a waterfront landmark resort. It is one of Vancouver’s favourite hotels in one of Vancouver’s favourite neighbourhoods.  In 1998, DA was commissioned to oversee the revitalization of its conference and hotel facilities, and the seismic upgrade of the existing hotel. Enhancements included a new conference centre, an expanded lobby featuring slate and marble finishes, and an iconic glass-and-steel curved space frame porte-cochere.  This provides a contemporary exciting and upbeat image for the hotel.

This project strongly influenced the architectural character of subsequent buildings that followed. The Westin Bayshore Hotel provided a recognizable hub for the newly evolved neighbourhood.
